Your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) can be found on a small, metal plate attached toward the top of the the driver's side of the dashboard. This small, metal tag is designed to remain visible through the windshield to view/access easily. Every car is required to have one of these correctly-located small, metal plates and it is illegal to remove or change this plate. If this tag is missing, chances are the vehicle has been repaired, or more likely, stolen.

To replace the SRS control unit
iN message notification to dealers took place on Saturday, January 23, 2016
Parts are not currently available in sufficient quantities to support this recall. Customers will initially be advised to visit the dealer only if their vehicle's SRS light is in fact illuminated. Once sufficient parts become available (expected to be Fall 2016), customers will then be notified again to visit their dealer for their SRS control unit replacement.
A preliminary version of bulletin 16-006, Safety Recall: 2008-2010 Accord SRS Unit Replacement has already been prepared to support this recall. This version will instruct dealers to verify the light on condition and then check for diagnostic codes. If there are any codes indicating an internal SRS unit failure, the unit will have to be replaced. All other conditions will be addressed as they become applicable. Once parts are sufficiently available, the bulletin will be revised to reflect SRS control unit replacement in all affected vehicles, regardless of whether or not internal failure codes are set.
All unsold, affected units most be repaired prior to sale of the vehicle.
Customer notification is planned for March 2016
