Honda's popular CR-V crossover vehicle has incurred a complete redesign with the new 2012 model, though it will retain many of the current model's functional features.
Safety features on the 2012 release will be similar to previous CR-V models. The antiskid feature returns for all models, with front-wheel drive (FWD) the standard for most types. All-wheel drive (AWD) will be included on high-end models and is an available option on others. FWD provides better traction on wet roads, while AWD engages automatically in snowy or other conditions where front control may slip. The 50/50 AWD feature splits control between the front and rear wheels, and drivers can select continuous 50/50 control for low-speed, off-road conditions. Antilock brakes, front-side airbags and curtain-side airbags will also be included.
Standard or available luxury features depend on the model chosen. The comfortable and spacious interior design is offered across the board. Honda models are expected to have standard radio controls on the steering wheel, a 6-disc CD changer and alloy wheels. The EX-L model comes equipped with a power driver's seat, heated front seats, leather upholstery and dual-zone climate control. A sunroof is standard on EX and EX-L models, and others can expect a power moonroof.
The EX-L also has an optional navigation system with a wireless cell-phone link; inclusion of the navigation system constitutes a separately priced model. Other expected features include Bluetooth capability, USB iPod interface and backup camera. The rear bench seat returns as well, allowing greater seating or cargo capacity with its movable position.
With impressive fuel efficiency, sleek styling and above-par safety features, the 2012 CR-V is the perfect choice.
